So I recently joined a book-club. March 7th will be the first meeting I go to, and we are reading The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Unlike most people in North-America, I have never read that, but I expect it’s going to be a good read, although I have never been much of a science-fiction afficionado.
Bring on the dork and geek jokes, I’ll totally understand. Truth is, I’ve been meaning to join a book clun for quite some time, but I’ve always been too shy to. But I have come to realize that making friends when you’re an adult (yes mom, I am in fact an adult) is really tough. The people I work with are usually much older than me and have different interests. People my age that I meet at work already have well established groups of friends. So I decided that the only way to work around that and meet some new people was through hobbies and such. And I love to read. So what better thing for me than a book club?
